Thanks for reaching out! Yes — the pay date comes from the pay group setup, and you can also confirm/update it while you’re preparing the pay run.

To change the pay date going forward

1. Go to your Pay groups, open the weekly pay group, and update the pay date settings (or pay schedule) so the next pay run shows Jan 23 instead of Jan 30.

2. When you start the pay run, double-check the pay period and pay date shown at the top before finalizing.

If you already created a pay run with the wrong pay date

Showing only the 2 pay groups you use
If you have extra pay groups you no longer use, the simplest “best practice” is to rename them (e.g., DO NOT USE) or keep them clearly labeled so they’re easy to ignore. If you tell us whether those other pay groups still have history, the community can suggest the cleanest way to manage them in your setup.
