Question

Not exactly sure how, but I have an estimate that got converted over to a contract. It is messing up my inventory and wanted to check if there was a way to convert contract to estimate to save me from having to redo the original estimate all over again

 Thanks for reaching out. While Sage 50 doesn't provide a direct method to convert a contract back into an estimate, you can reverse the transaction to negate its effects. Here&rsquo;s a condensed guide on what to do:

Reverse the Contract : Find the contract in question and use the 'Reverse Entry' button to reverse the transaction. This won't delete it but will reverse the associated debits and credits, removing the transaction's impact on your inventory.

Recreate the Estimate : Unfortunately, if you need the original estimate details, you will have to manually re-enter them into the system. Use the ' Create Estimate' function to record the details anew.

Prevent Future Issues : To avoid similar issues, double-check before converting quotes/estimates to ensure the correct conversion is made.

Please note, reversing transactions will preserve an audit trail, which is beneficial for maintaining accurate records.
