Opening a company saved as a zip file and import journal entries

Question

My version: Sage-50 Pro 2018. The fiscal year of my Company A is Dec 31. In 2020 I made journal entries up to J414. The next day I continued entries up to J452, which was the final entry for 2020, and I saved it as a zip file. When I started a new year (2021) unfortunately I made a mistake of using the J414 version. When I found out I unzipped the J452 version which was the correct Year-end file. However Sage can&rsquo;t open it anymore, with the error message &ldquo;Sage 50 cannot open the database because the database engine reported an error. Please see the error log for more information.&rdquo; 
 I have 2 questions: 
 
 Is there anyway to fix the unzipped company file (J452 version) so Sage can read it? 
 I have a saved Excel file of the journal entries from J1 to J452. How do I import only J415 to J452 to the company with journals ending J414?

 Yes there are extra files in various places but none that control the database itself except for the Connection Manager program. Why did you restore when the file was still in the original location? There should have been no need unless you deleted the original and didn't mention it in your message above. 
 In the *.saj folder there is the errorlog.txt file. What does it say about the error? Try opening the file and if you get the error it will be last few lines in the file. You can open it in notepad.exe. 
 I zip and unzip company files all the time. I'm very used to knowing when and when not to overwrite an older file. I would try unzipping to a new location instead of overwriting old files.
