Remote Data Access - Company Setting

Suggested

I'm looking at setting up my Sage file for remote data access for virtual office work. I will need the second computer to have the ability to email invoices like the first. However, the second computer would ideally be working with email via web browser vs the main computer has the email settings for the file to use the desktop email program on it. Am I able to have the company email options different for the file on the 2nd computer accessing via remote data access compared to the company email settings on the host computer for the main file?

    Hello C.BORROWMAN,

With regards to your question, Sage 50 files can only have 1 email setting so you would need to toggle between "Use a default desktop email program" and "Use a webmail account" depending on which computer you're working on.

Do you know if this also applies to all the other company settings? Things like form templates? I'm working on 2 different units (an office desktop and a laptop for travel) - however they both require the invoice form template but the template would be stored locally on each.

Can't comment on the email setup issue, but for the template issue, I'd suggest that you move the templates from the default location (with the Sage program file on the local C: drive) to the shared location (inside the Sage SAJ folder that you share using remote data access).  This would ensure that both users are always using the same template layout.  I also prefer to keep templates in the SAJ folder even if they won't be shared, as that ensures that they are included in your backups.
