Error after 2025.0 update Sage 50 Premium

SOLVED

When I am logged in on my computer in multi-user mode and try to switch back to single user mode to do a back up, this pop up appears;

"There is an error when connecting to the server. Please check your internet connection and try again"

My internet is fine and what server is it trying to connect to ?

We run 2 companies and have 2 sets of data files, this error only occurs on one and not the other and it just started after the update.

I keep my files on my local hard drive, I do not use the cloud service.

It logs me out of the company files and then I have to log back into the company in single user mode in order to do the daily back up, very annoying!

Any ideas of why this is happening?

Thanks!

    Hi,

we have the same problem when completing invoices. The database is is on a server and the only way to process the transactions is to work on a mono-user session. We've tried the Sage solution center and did all their complete procedure... nothing changed...  today we are removing 2025 update and go back 2024....

    If you have nay suggestion....

    Hi Benoit,

I tried posting invoices in muti-user mode on the company that is giving us the back up issue, the test invoice posted no problem on our system.

You may have already tried this, but I wonder if your issue may have to do with a share data issue from the workstation to the main server ??

I'm looking at all the possibility's. Server wise, nothing nothing changed since the lkast 10 years and it was working properly... Sad situation thinking migration to full cloud sage one.

Solved the situation temporarely by changing the network from private to public on 2 computers and the other ones to private (3 computers)... No logic explanation yet. The server is on private network

    Hi,

I use Sage 50 premium and upgraded to 2025.0 back on October 25th. After doing so I noted that the recurring entries within the payroll module were not being saved properly. For each and every pay I had go in and manually put in the correct tax information. I was on the phone with support. I sent them my file as they felt the problem might be with my data. After waiting a couple weeks I called back. They told me there was no problem with my data and that the problem would be solved when I upgraded to 2025.1

Another problem that was pointed out to me by support. Under file when you go down to properties even though I upgraded to 2025 it states that I am still using 2024.2. Support fixed this problem while I was on the phone with them couple weeks later I noticed that it reverted back and now reads 2024.2 yet again Yesterday when I opened the program there was a notification that there was an upgrade for sage 50 2025.1. It doesn't say that it is for premium. And when I close the program I was not prompted to upgrade. I went to look for an upgrade and it says I'm on the most current version. Has anyone else had a similar problem? And does anyone know if there is an upgrade for premium?

Update... I was able to download and install 2025.1. As stated by the support line all issues were rectified. Seems to be working well now.

    Update!

Well I tried this and it seemed to have work for our situation.

I backed up the company files to my external back up drive. E:/

Then copied the inside folder and data file from C:/SAGE to a new folder I created on my second hard drive on D:/SAGE

Deleted the original folder on my C:/ drive.

Then copied the previous created folder from my D:/ drive back over to C:/ re-shared the folder on the network and this seems to have fixed the problem.

Hope this may help someone else!

** REMEMBER TO BACK UP THE DATA FOLDER WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT, BEFORE DELETING !!! **

  • I fixed the problem on my workstation- I adjusted the Internet settings to turn on advanced EEE on the ethernet card - works fine now

I'm still having this issue with ONE of my files!

Odd how it is only affecting 2 of the 150 files we have updated so far.

Fix applied to file #1:  This is a shared company, which was able to be corrected by watching the you tube video here: www.youtube.com/watch

The second file isn't a shared file but it does have multiple users accessing it on the same server.  This is the same setup with all of our files; we aren't having this issue with any other files so I do not believe the configuration of our server/firewall to be the problem.

Any other suggestions are welcome, please!   You can email me directly at [email protected]

How does one go about turning on this setting?

Well, got back off of 2 week holiday break and figured I would update the Sage 50 to 2025.1

The issue is back with a vengeance this time!  my old fix would not work, I tried the recommended fix on YouTube, but it only works the once.

When I exit out of the company files and try to go back into them, this pop up comes right back!

Then I have to go through the whole sample company procedure to get back into the company database?

Does not do this at all to our other company data files, opens fine, every time on 2025.1

Now that one does not use the payroll module, so maybe that has something to do with it ??

Also, the tech line is not accepting calls right now ?? WHAT GIVES ???
