Forced to register 2015 version - Sage won't allow it

SOLVED

We are a small non-profit and have been using the 2015 version of Sage 50 Pro Canada since Dec 2014. It still meets our very basic needs. We updated to a new laptop and reinstalled the 2015 version. However, when trying to register, it says our account info doesn't match. We still have the serial number, activation key, etc.

Sage support says it's too old so they can't support it. We're not looking for technical support or a newer version. We simply want to use the software for which we purchased a license and have been successfully using for the last ten years.

Does anyone know of any options? Even switching to a cloud-based product from another company is at least $20/month, which impacts our budget, so we'd like to avoid it!

    Hi  ,

Thanks for sharing your situation. If you still have the serial number and activation key, it’s worth checking whether the codes for your 2015 version are still available in your Sage account. You can try the steps outlined in this article to access your account and locate the information.

If you encounter issues accessing the Customer Portal or need further assistance, you can contact customer.portal@sage.com for support.

I hope this helps! Let us know how it goes or if you have additional questions.

If this helps please mark it as verified :)

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I was able to log onto the portal and it's shows our registered product, but I don't see any other codes. Both the registration and unlocking key columns are empty. Are one of those the code needed to register? If so, how do I get them?

Also, we were able to restore an older version of a laptop that had Sage 2015 on it. And it's still working. Is there somewhere to find the code in one of the folders?

I have sent an email to the customer portal team as well.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

    SUGGESTED

    Hi DSSCBookkeeper:

If you still have access to your older computer with 2015 installed, open Sage 50 and go to the Help menu, About Sage 50, Support Info and your serial #, key Code and client ID should be there.

Hi, looking at the support info, it has the same information we already have - the account number, the serial number, and the key code. We've tried using those codes already and the registration says the account information doesn't match.

Update: it finally worked! I don't know what changed as I was using the same information. But of course, now I'm having a separate issue. Will start a new post about it.
