can I have some clients in 2025.1 and others on 2025.0?

SOLVED

with all the issues around RDA for version 2025.1 I am holding off upgrading for my one client that does use RDA.   However, I have several other clients that do not use RDA.  I have payroll to do for many of them on Friday and need the updated payroll tables that 2025.1 includes.   Is it possible to upgrade my sage to 2025.1 for all my other clients but leave this one client as 2025.0 until the issue is resolved?    I don't recall if I have the option to decline updating when I open a file after an update to Sage.   Basically.....can I be working in both 2025.0 and 2025.1?

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out about your question regarding Sage 50 Canada 2025.1 and 2025.0. Managing multiple versions can be a challenge, but here are some steps that may help you achieve your goal:

    1. Running Both Versions (2025.0 and 2025.1):

      • While it is possible to have different version years (e.g., 2024 and 2025) installed on the same machine, Sage 50 Canada does not allow both 2025.0 and 2025.1 versions to be installed simultaneously. To work with both versions, consider using a virtual machine (VM) or a separate device.
    2. Handling RDA-Related Files:

      • For the file requiring Remote Data Access (RDA), our support team can assist in running the necessary tools to resolve access challenges. Please note that wait times may be longer than usual during this period, and we appreciate your patience.
    3. Updated Payroll Tables:

      • To ensure your payroll tables are up to date for version 2025.0, refer to the step-by-step guidance provided in this Knowledgebase article. The article explains how to download and install the latest tax update to ensure accurate calculations for your clients.

I just hope this issue is resolved quickly by Sage as I have to do payroll so I have to upgrade to 2025.1, but I also need to access my RDA client.

    Hi  ,

I just wanted to follow up and let you know that the workaround for the Sage 50 2025.1 access issue is now available. We’ve already received many reports of its success, so we’re confident this solution will help resolve the issue you're experiencing. Note that for any files on version 2025.0 you'll need to install 2025.1 and then install the workaround .exe.
