What is simacct$.dat file and what process in Sage generates it?

Hi all, 
 I noticed the file simacct$.da t in the Sage folder this morning while doing a backup and need to know if it is malware of some sort.

 Thanks for reaching out! The simacct$.dat file is not malware, so no need to worry. This file is typically located in the public documents folder: 
 C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\2025\1 
 Backups do not generate this file; it&rsquo;s a part of each installed version of Sage 50. Let us know if you have further questions or need more clarification!
