After the last Sage 50 2025.1 update ordeals am little hesitant to update to 2025.2. For those that updated already what are some of the issues that you have experienced?
I am trying to open a previously installed Sage and it says missing file. Both the SAI and SAJ files are in the folder????
I am also very hesitant to do this. Any updates from anyone who has performed the 2025.2 update June 2025 would be appreciated
So far I have only seen where you could double click on a line in the GL it would usually open up. Now you have to go down and hit ok.
Hi everyone – thank you for sharing your thoughts and questions about the 2025.2 update.
If you're still on 2025.1 and are concerned about the login prompt behavior, rest assured that 2025.2 does not introduce new login requirements. The login experience remains consistent with what was introduced in 2025.1. That means if you've been using the workaround (e.g., closing the login prompt and proceeding), you can expect similar behavior in 2025.2—unless you're accessing features like RDA or HR that require online services.
If you're considering the update, here are a few notable highlights in 2025.2 from the what's new notes here that might be of interest:
Updated Payroll Tax Tables (effective July 1, 2025), including federal and provincial changes (e.g., a new 14% federal tax rate on income up to $57,375).
Nova Scotia HST update for newly created companies (now set at 14%).
Temporary RL-1.T Slip Support for Québec users.
Improved Syncing with Sage HR to reduce issues when uploading employee records or documents.
If you've already updated, we'd love to hear from you. Your feedback is crucial and is reviewed alongside other usability suggestions for future releases.
Let us know how it’s going—and if this helps, please mark it as verified :)
installed the 2025.2 upgrade and now have same issue that we were getting the 2025.1 upgrade. Tried to uninstall 2025.2 and re-install 2025.1 but still can't open a client Sage 50 client.
Our bookkeeper updated hers to 2025.2 and now we're unable to import Sage into Caseware for those in house files.
2025.1 is fine though.
berniel , I didn’t see whether you’ve engaged with our support team directly yet. If you haven’t, it’d be helpful to open a ticket so we can investigate this behavior specifically on your client's setup and walk through any necessary steps.
Hi AshleyE , thanks again for raising this. Since we haven’t seen much recent discussion about Caseware here (the last post we found was from 2017!), it might be worth starting a new thread in the General Discussion forum. That way, Caseware users specifically can more easily find and respond to your question.
In your post, consider including:
The version of Caseware you’re using
Any specific error messages during the import
Whether you’re working with in-house or cloud files
We’ll keep an eye on it too, and hopefully someone from the community who’s handled this recently can jump in with tips!
we updated to 2025.2 and now Sage wont open at all! we tried complete uninstall and re-installed first try just from 2024.2 and that didnt work, so uninstalled again and tried from the sage 50 website and that didnt work.... what to do?!!!
Installed it 2025.2 today and I get an error that my payroll taxes are only valid until 30 Jun 2025. I've checked the update and it was installed. I've tried updating all the employees and it still says the taxes are not valid.
Went on chat support - nothing resolved. Called in and dealt with two different support people - still not resolved.
Update: 11 Jul 2025 - I was told that the issue would be escalated and Sage would contact me. I have yet to hear from Sage and the case number I was provided is "invalid" when I called in.
Looking at some of the serious issues here has Sage taken any steps to come up with fixes or patches to address these?
Hi @LACKLASSEN,
Thank you for your detailed post and for sharing your experience with the 2025.2 update and payroll tax validity error. I completely understand how frustrating this has been, especially given the multiple support interactions and the ongoing disruption.
Here’s a summary of the key steps to double-check based on your support ticket (#80*****608):
Verify Your Installed Version:
Go to Help > About Sage 50 to ensure it displays version 2025.2.
Check Your Service Plan Status:
In Sage 50, go to Help > Update Service Plan > Check Service Plan to confirm that your 2025.2 license is active.
If you see any warnings such as “You need to purchase a support plan…” or “Sage 50 is unable to update your subscription information at this time…”, this could prevent payroll tax tables from updating.
Troubleshooting Articles:
If you have already verified all the above and still receive the error that payroll taxes are only valid until June 30, 2025, it may be due to a subscription sync issue or service plan validation problem on the back end. Based on your notes, your case is being escalated and our team followed up today with the above details (Here's how to create or view support tickets online). If you do not hear back by the next business day, please reply here or DM me and I’ll personally follow up with our support team to ensure your case is prioritized.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this. If you or other community members have found a workaround, please feel free to share—it may help others in the meantime!
If this helps, please mark it as verified :)
Best Regards,
Erzsi
Hi Ernest Ah , thanks for your question. So far, the Sage 50 Canada 2025.2 release has been smooth overall, with no major issues reported by our teams. However, we’re actively monitoring the community and support channels—any critical issues raised will be escalated and addressed as needed.
If you notice any specific problems, please share them here so we can review and follow up. For the latest updates or fixes, you can also check the Sage 50 Announcements forum here.
Thanks for staying engaged!
I did all of that multiple times and no, it was not resolved. I was emailed by Sage and asked to do the same steps again, despite being very clear that we had already done all of that. I provided screen shots to prove that I have installed the update and still have the error. I provided chat history as well. Today, I received the email response to call in again, as they could not resolve the issue. The second person we spoke to on the phone told me that Sage would escalate the issue and call me when they had a solution. That did not happen. I don't have time prove once again that I have actually done the install and it does not work properly.
Hi lacklassen ,
Thank you for your continued patience and for providing detailed feedback. I understand how frustrating this ongoing payroll tax validity error must be, and have escalated your comments to our support team and asked them to prioritize your case directly. They should be reaching out to you likely tomorrow with further assistance.
If you do not hear back, please feel free to reply here or send me a direct message, and I will personally ensure your issue is followed up on.
Thanks again for your patience while we work to get this resolved.
Upon opening Sage 50 (after not accessing for about two weeks), I updated to Release 2025.2 and immediately noticed the past 3 months of transactions are missing??
I just finished a support call with "Joseph" (Vancouver, BC). He was successful in restoring my missing transactions. I'm very grateful for a wonderful support call today!
My independent bookkeeper has switched to 2025.2 . I can no longer read her files from v2022.4. What do I need to do to correct this? I am using Windows 11.
I haven't had any real problem except, I cannot access the files from my home computer. I used to be able to access the file but cannot now. Stoney Creek United Church. The message says that there is a file missing
