After the last Sage 50 2025.1 update ordeals am little hesitant to update to 2025.2. For those that updated already what are some of the issues that you have experienced?
Installed it 2025.2 today and I get an error that my payroll taxes are only valid until 30 Jun 2025. I've checked the update and it was installed. I've tried updating all the employees and it still says the taxes are not valid.
Went on chat support - nothing resolved. Called in and dealt with two different support people - still not resolved.
Update: 11 Jul 2025 - I was told that the issue would be escalated and Sage would contact me. I have yet to hear from Sage and the case number I was provided is "invalid" when I called in.
Hi @LACKLASSEN,
Thank you for your detailed post and for sharing your experience with the 2025.2 update and payroll tax validity error. I completely understand how frustrating this has been, especially given the multiple support interactions and the ongoing disruption.
Here’s a summary of the key steps to double-check based on your support ticket (#80*****608):
Verify Your Installed Version:
Go to Help > About Sage 50 to ensure it displays version 2025.2.
Check Your Service Plan Status:
In Sage 50, go to Help > Update Service Plan > Check Service Plan to confirm that your 2025.2 license is active.
If you see any warnings such as “You need to purchase a support plan…” or “Sage 50 is unable to update your subscription information at this time…”, this could prevent payroll tax tables from updating.
Troubleshooting Articles:
If you have already verified all the above and still receive the error that payroll taxes are only valid until June 30, 2025, it may be due to a subscription sync issue or service plan validation problem on the back end. Based on your notes, your case is being escalated and our team followed up today with the above details (Here's how to create or view support tickets online). If you do not hear back by the next business day, please reply here or DM me and I’ll personally follow up with our support team to ensure your case is prioritized.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this. If you or other community members have found a workaround, please feel free to share—it may help others in the meantime!
If this helps, please mark it as verified :)
Best Regards,
Erzsi
I did all of that multiple times and no, it was not resolved. I was emailed by Sage and asked to do the same steps again, despite being very clear that we had already done all of that. I provided screen shots to prove that I have installed the update and still have the error. I provided chat history as well. Today, I received the email response to call in again, as they could not resolve the issue. The second person we spoke to on the phone told me that Sage would escalate the issue and call me when they had a solution. That did not happen. I don't have time prove once again that I have actually done the install and it does not work properly.
