Sage with Payroll

Question

I am sure this has been asked on several occasions....but.... 
 Can you purchase the Payroll Module WITHOUT signing up for the payroll updates? 
 We have 1 employee...so I calculate the deductions online....but it would be nice to be able to manually input them...and have all the data for T4's and ROE's etc easily stored. 
 Currently I can not even open the Payroll module to issue a cheque

Hi Brighton Automotive , Thanks for your question. Since 2014 (but implemented in 2016) access to the payroll module has only been available if a user's software license had an active subscription. This applies to retail boxes as well with the note "Sage 50 with Payroll." The "with Payroll" part is a subscription for 1 year. A basic payroll plan is good for up to 10 employees and is priced for this. If you have a basic support plan like Silver this also enables access to the payroll module but doesn't give you the automatic tax deductions or e-filing of T4/ROEs abilities. 
 If your payroll is minimal then perhaps look into whether you can track things manually. For processing payroll without a payroll or support plan, the entries can be entered manually via the General Journal screen in the Company module.
