Sage 50 Accounting - reports module not working

Suggested

I have a few clients that I keep books for.  One of these no longer allows reports to view or print. Every time I try to do a report, Sage locks up and the only way out is to close using Task Manager.  All other aspects work, including printing of invoices, etc.  It also won't let me view or change the printer in Setup.  The other client databases have no issues at all on reports.

Anyone else having this issue?  It started just before the 2025.2 upgrade, and the upgrade didn't fix the issue.

Thanks,

Valerie

    Hi  ,

Thank you for sharing your issue with the reports module after the 2025.2 upgrade. Have you already reached out to our support team regarding this?

This problem where Sage locks up when trying to run reports or access certain windows can sometimes be related to data corruption or installation issues.

Please take a look at this article which provides troubleshooting steps for situations where modules, reports, or windows won’t open properly:
Unable to open modules, reports, windows, journals, or interfaces

If following these steps doesn’t resolve the issue, I recommend opening a support ticket so the team can assist further with your specific database and environment.

Let us know if you need help with this still!

If this helps, please mark it as verified :)

I figured it out moments before contacting support thanks to an unrelated issue at my day job.

I had added a new printer (we'd been evacuated due to wildfires so I had little choice but to purchase a cheap one to get things done).  I stopped using that printer when back home, but had set my default printer on my laptop to that one while working during evacuation.  I had only changed to that printer in the one client although I didn't realize that at the time. I had simply printed all other clients' material to PDF to physically print when able to return.

Once I was home, Sage wouldn't let me change the print settings in the one client because the default was the now-no-longer-needed printer.  It was creating a glitch in Sage.  I went into my computer's print settings and deleted that printer.  As soon as I did and logged back into my client's file in Sage, problem solved, I was able to change print settings back to the normal printer.  It just randomly occurred at the same time as the update, but was completely unrelated.

If anyone else encounters this issue, I'd suggest deleting your printer in the Windows settings, re-adding it later if necessary.
