Unresolved amount not showing in withdrawl list

Hello,
I'm reconciling our bank account and the payroll amount is showing as unresolved.  Payroll was entered in Sage at the end of the month dated for the 1st of the next month.  When trying to reconcile, the total amount of the payroll is showing as an unresolved amount on the bottom of the screen,  however; the transactions are not there to "uncheck"  so i can balance. When i pull the report for the next period, the amounts are showing on that report on the first of the 1st of the month.   How do I reconcile the amount when its over 2 dates?

    Hi  ,

Thanks for the detailed explanation — that helps clarify what you’re seeing.

Before diving into specific steps, could you please confirm which product you’re using? From your description, it’s not fully clear whether this is:

    • Sage Accounting (potentially with a payroll integration), or
    • Sage 50 Canada, which has built-in payroll.

This distinction matters because Sage Accounting itself does not include native payroll. Payroll amounts typically appear in Sage Accounting only when they’re brought in through an integration or recorded as withdrawals. You can find more details here: Does Sage Accounting offer payroll?

If you are using Sage Accounting, unresolved amounts during reconciliation are often related to timing differences between transaction dates and bank statement dates. This article walks through common causes and how to correct them: How to fix bank reconciliation issues in Sage Accounting.

In general, when a payroll amount spans two dates (for example, entered at month-end but dated for the 1st of the next month), it’s expected that:

    • The amount may appear as unresolved in one period, and
    • Only become selectable for reconciliation in the period that matches the transaction date.

If you can confirm which product you’re using and how payroll is being recorded (integration vs. manual entry), we can provide more targeted steps to help you complete the reconciliation.

Thanks — looking forward to your update.
