Can anyone recommend the best practice management software for an accounting firm?

Suggested

I am currently exploring options like Remindoo and a few other tools, but I’m not sure which one is the most suitable for managing multiple clients, handling workflows, tracking deadlines, and improving overall practice efficiency. I would really appreciate suggestions on Remindoo as well as other popular software such as Karbon, TaxDome, AccountancyManager, Senta, or any other alternatives you have experience with. Which one works best in terms of ease of use, automation, and value for money?

For those who have used any of these platforms:

  • Which practice management software do you recommend and why?

  • Has anyone used Remindoo? How does it compare with other accounting practice management solutions?
  • What are the biggest advantages and disadvantages?

  • How well does it handle client onboarding, task management, deadlines, and document collection?

  • Which software offers the best value for money for a small to medium-sized accounting practice?

I’d appreciate any real-world experiences, recommendations, or insights.

    Hi John,

If you’re looking for practice management software, it’s worth considering solutions that bring your workflows, client management, and compliance into one place.

With practice management software built for accountants and bookkeepers, you can simplify tasks like tax preparation, automate routine admin, and keep track of client work more easily.

I’ve gone pretty deep on this recently, and honestly, there isn’t a single “best” tool—it really depends on what your firm actually needs.

    1. Karbon → best for larger / more complex firms
Very strong workflow automation and team collaboration. Great triage and visibility across the team.
Downside: expensive and has a steeper learning curve.
    2. Jetpack Workflow → simple and focused
Great if your main problem is tracking recurring accounting work. Easy to implement and straightforward for teams.
Downside: not really a full practice management solution, with more limited client-facing functionality.
    3. Remindoo → modern all-in-one option for accounting firms
This is the one I’d seriously consider if you want something that combines practice management, task management, client management, workflows, recurring tasks and client communication without the complexity of some larger platforms.

It feels more focused on the day-to-day needs of accounting practices and can help bring client work, team tasks and workflows into one place. It’s also worth looking at if you want a solution that can scale without adding a lot of unnecessary complexity.

    1. Financial Cents → simple alternative
Clean interface and relatively easy onboarding. A good option for firms that mainly want straightforward workflow and task management.

For us, Remindoo stood out because it offered the combination of features we actually needed for accounting practice management without making the setup unnecessarily complicated. If you're comparing tools like Karbon, Jetpack Workflow or Financial Cents, I’d definitely put Remindoo on the shortlist and test it against your firm's specific workflow.
