I contacted the product team and they replied as below.

Thanks for raising this – it’s a really important point, especially for LLPs.

You’re right that today Sage Accounts Production does not support all LLP filing formats, however it’s worth noting that LLPs are supported in Sage Accounts Production Advanced, including micro‑entity LLPs.

Looking ahead, the key change from Companies House is that from April 2028 all accounts (including LLPs) must be filed using commercial software, with paper and web filing routes closing

Now that this deadline is confirmed, there is a clear transition period of a full accounting year plus 9 months to prepare

From a Sage perspective, this gives us clarity to plan and assess support across all entity types:

• We recognise there are variations today in how different LLP scenarios are supported across products, although LLPs (including micro‑entity LLPs) are supported within Sage Accounts Production Advanced
• We are actively reviewing how best to support software-based filing requirements across our portfolio ahead of the 2028 mandate
• This review will inform how we expand and align our digital filing capabilities for LLPs in line with the new requirements

In the meantime, existing filing routes remain available where software support is limited, up until the 2028 deadline.

We will communicate further detail as this work progresses, but the key point is that there is now sufficient time to assess the right approach and ensure customers are supported ahead of the move to mandatory software filing.

That is good to know but please understand that some of your users will not find it appropriate to upgrade to SAPA as they have only a few accounts clients or or semi retired such as myself. I have asked about this problem many times over the years and just been fobbed off with words like ' we may look at this on a future upgrade' That was all very well when we could file by post but clearly wont do in the future. 

I could never understand why you cant simply add the format to Accounts Production and why not do it sooner rather than later?
