Sage 200 and SQL Express

We're shortly going to migrate our Sage 200 installation from SBS to Server 2012.  It currently runs on SQL2008R2, but none of our IT guys know if this is a standalone version of SQL, or part of SBS.

Once we do migrate, will it be possible to install 200 onto SQL Express, as I'm dreading the cost of a full SQL implementation.... Thanks

  • Hi,

SQL Express is not supported on Sage 200 (most likely due to restrictions of DB size, Memory usage & network access etc.)
But also on a side note - SQL Workgroup Edition has recently been removed from the supported list too

You would want to be looking at SQL Standard as a minimum edition to take advantage of Business Intelligence (SQL Workgroup Edition - does not have analysis Services required for BI)

    Hope this helps,

    Paul
