Chart of accounts explained

The Chart of Accounts is the list of all your nominal accounts, grouped into categories like income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. These categories shape how your management reports are structured, helping you track business performance and make informed decisions.

Reconciling your aged reports

Your Debtors and Creditors Control Accounts show what customers owe you and what you owe suppliers. Reconciling these accounts regularly helps you spot issues early and keep your accounts accurate. Find out how to reconcile the Debtors and Creditors Control Accounts.

  • What has Sage got planned in relation to HMRC forthcoming changes:

From 1 April 2027, all companies must file their accounts using commercial software?

  • in reply to Pauline Blundell

    Hi Pauline,

    Thanks for your reply.

At Sage we do not currently offer solutions for unrepresented customers to file Corporation tax returns or company accounts . We provide solutions to accountants.

We are currently assessing how best to support users through these changes and will provide updates when we have news. If you require these solutions in your bookkeeping software, please raise an idea or vote for an idea on the relevant ideas board, users who vote will receive updates once they are posted.

Alternatively, you can use the Sage Accountants directory to find an accountant who can support you through these changes.

    Andy,
