Protect Your Dataset

Learn how to best maintain your data to keep it working efficiently and error free.

Backup your data

Regularly creating a backup copy of your data is essential to preventing data loss. It is recommended to take a daily backup of your data files, and the occasional backup of your layout templates, reports and archives. In the event that your invoice templates get lost or corrupted, you can rely on these backups to bring a fresh version back into the software, as if nothing had happened!

Check your data

Routinely checking your data for corruption will allow you to detect corruption early and address it immediately. It is never advised to process anything while errors are present, as this can cause further corruption and can impact the accuracy of your reports.

Automate

Automate your backup and data checking process by scheduling backups to happen at a time that suits you - regardless of whether you have Sage open or not. Even if you are already working in sage, it will create the backup with no interruption to your workflow.

Data management

Clearing historical data is important to prevent corruption. It is advised to keep a maximum of two years of data within your live accounts.  Our data management tool can help you keep your data within the limit by finding transactions/records that fit your deletion criteria and giving you the option to mass remove them.

Archive your data

As a company, you are required to keep certain data on hand in case of audit. Through the archive option you can create a read-only snapshot of your live data that you can refer back to at any time. This means you do not need to keep your historical data amongst your live data - freeing the software to run smoothly and error-free.
