How does emailing work in Sage 50 Cloud Accounts, and can I use it with Outlook (or other email vendors)?
The ability to send emails directly to your mail program drafts folder won't be available in the initial release, as Outlook will not be installed on the virtual machine. However, you can send emails directly from Sage 50 Cloud Accounts using SMTP, and in many ways, this is a more powerful option. SMTP works independently of any email client installed on your computer, meaning emails are sent directly and reliably without needing Outlook open in the background. It also gives you greater flexibility, supporting a wide range of email providers beyond Outlook. For businesses that send high volumes of transactional emails: invoices, remittances, statements, SMTP is a robust, consistent solution. The Outlook drafts integration remains under review as the platform develops, but SMTP is a fully capable alternative available to you right now.
