Sorry, first time using this help forum - how do I reply to a response to a question I asked? Trying to respond to Andy Rickeard's response to my question. Thanks
Hi,
When you click on the post and open it, there should be a text box that you can type your reply in, before clicking 'Reply' in the bottom right-hand corner. Alternatively, if you're replying to a post in a thread, you can click the Reply button first to open the text box, enter your reply and click Reply again.

Our range is 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2023. The nominal activity report for this date range shows all our nominal codes with a balance it's just the trial balance that is missing most of our nominal codes. Thanks
Do you get the same result if you run the Transactional Trial Balance from 01/01/1980 to 30/09/23? You can find the Transactional TB in Nominal codes > Reports > Trial Balance > Transactional Trial Balance.
If I run the transactional trial balance with the dates you mentioned I do get balances for every nominal code.
Thanks for coming back. The two reports look at data in different areas, the regular TB looks at the "bucket" values, these are the monthly totals generated on the nominal records as transactions are posted, whereas the transactional report looks at audit trail transactions. You would normally expect the same results but the missing values on the regular TB suggest there might be some data corruption.
The following article has steps for potentially fixing the corruption: Fixing Bucket Corruption >
I recommend following those steps then trying the TB again.
If the problem persists, then I recommend contacting Sage Technical Support who can troubleshoot further if required. Sage Technical Support >
Many thanks for your response . I will have a look at the Fixing Bucket Corruption link. I've spoken to our accountant who told me they have 3 other clients having the same problem with year end Trial Balance and have blamed it on a recent update. I don't know enough about the technicalities of Sage but for the moment our accountant has got round the missing TB information. Fingers crossed for next year! Once again many thanks.
