Different invoice layouts based on customer type

SOLVED

Hi all,

I use different sales invoice templates for different customers, however at the minute this is a manual process.

Is there any way to link a template to a customer so it would default to the right invoice layout?  Ideally I would se a field in the customer record to flag the type of customer they are.

Kind regards,

Paul

    Hi Paul,

As John suggests you may be able to use the Analysis fields, either in the way he suggests as an identifier to filter on, or you could use the Analysis fields to determine what appears on an invoice layout thereby using one layout that formats differently depending upon Analysis field content.

There isn't currently a link between a customer record and an invoice layout, but it is something you could suggest on the Ideas Board >

    Hi Andy

thanks for the answer, could you elaborate on the "you could use the Analysis fields to determine what appears on an invoice layout".

Do you mean you could have a section on the invoice with the text from the anaylsis field, or could it be more complex than that?

The main difference I want on the layout is most customer are invoiced in EUR with French TVA amount specified,  but a few customers, whilst they are still invoiced in EUR, have the GBP VAT amounts and also the GBP bank details in case they want to pay in GBP.

They also have a different company address in the footer of the email (UK rather than French).

I'm assuming there is no way to achieve that currently?

    Thanks

Hi Paul, yes I was suggesting a simple use of the analysis fields to add text as required, I think for what you require we would be looking at an Ideas Board post and possible future development.
