Sage 50 Finance Package

Suggested

Hi

On the 28th June, I had a call from Sage renewals, who told me that my renewal was due, and that the new name for my subscription would be Sage 50 Finance Package.  I thought nothing of it at the time, but since then I've not been able to find anything online about what Sage 50 Finance Package is.  I can still see Sage Accounts Pro is still referred to as Sage Accounts Pro, so what is Sage 50 Finance Package?

I believe it includes free access to Satago and Auto Entry. These are useful additions but Sage should explain what they are and whether there is an option to just subscribe to Accounts Professional

Hmmm, sounds the renewals department are trying to increase subscribers to those services, by passing it off as a name change, when in reality, I don't care for either auto entry or Satago.

I'll be watching my invoices for when they try to sneak in extra charges for them.

And it looks like the price has increased.  So much for it simply being a name change.  Gone up from £225 to £264.

Also still waiting for the callback I was promised on the 28th June by the person upselling me to Finance Package.  That's the 3rd promised non-call back in a row now.

Just when I thought my opinion of Sage couldn't get any lower, you try extra hard and disappoint me further.

Currently on the phone with Sage retentions, who are trying to pass off the price increase, as a price fix. "at this new price, your cost is frozen for 12 months".

    Unbelievable.

Did you get anywhere with this? I have just been contacted by a client who was also mis-sold this so-called Finance Package and was told verbally and in writing in an email that it was at no extra cost. She tried Satago, but decided it was not for her. Her subscription was increased by £30 per month and Sage are ignoring all her emails of complaint.

They defaulted to ignoring me.  I still have details of all the failed promised call returns.

Try Emma Hussain - apparently she was very helpful and understood straight away that my client felt she had been mis-sold.

I think she is to be found in the Sage Customer Retentions department.

After speaking to Emma Hussain, my client was able to get her subscription price increase reversed, and her Finance Package removed and reverted to straight Sage 50 Accounts Professional. She also removed the HR package from payroll, which was another sneaky price increase of £20 per month. During all the dealings she had with Sage salespeople, she was assured that these were no extra cost additions to her existing subscriptions. She felt misled, and made that very clear.

Hi, I just wondered if you managed to get a satisfactory resolution from Sage?  I had a similar call yesterday for an "annual licence review" and have ended up in the same situation.  My recently retired colleague used to deal with Sage, so I wasn't sure whether this "review" was regular practice, so I went through the basic details of our requirements (nothing has changed) and the "customer success agent" at no point mentioned changing or upgrading our package, but concludes the call saying "so that will be £206 per month"  I only had an older invoice to hand at the time, so just thought this was what we had been paying since the annual increase, but it turns out that this is an additional £30 a month on top of that!  I have emailed him back to say I don't want to change from Sage 50 Accounts Professional and I don't agree to this additional cost, but unsurprisingly I haven't had a reply.  Perhaps I'm being very naive having not really had any dealings with Sage before, but I'm quite stunned by how deceptive and opaque this "review" was!  Any advice on who best to contact to resolve this would be much appreciated
