Sage 50 Finance Package

Suggested

Hi

On the 28th June, I had a call from Sage renewals, who told me that my renewal was due, and that the new name for my subscription would be Sage 50 Finance Package.  I thought nothing of it at the time, but since then I've not been able to find anything online about what Sage 50 Finance Package is.  I can still see Sage Accounts Pro is still referred to as Sage Accounts Pro, so what is Sage 50 Finance Package?

Looks like my turn. Fascinating read below. Clearly some concerns about dishonest practices.

I have Sage 50 Accounts Professional.

I had a circa 40% price increase last time around and now another 45%+ being proposed but zero clarity on what package, just a lot of chatter about Sage CoPilot and Document Capture included but have been told this is now standard, is this correct? I feel I am being sold a line to be honest.

I have been with Sage approaching 14 years now and its seems like they want rid of me. I am looking at a 104% increase in two years without any useful addition to functionality and now constant upselling or advertising of sales finance or other chargeable services. I bet the commercial directors are salivating.

    Seems no loyalty reward anymore.

But seriously, does anyone has a list of the current packages? It must be somewhere but well hidden on Sage websites. It appear all smoke and mirrors.

Any recent experiences anyone willing to share?

    Thank you

Similar story here, the price has increased over the past couple of years. I tried Copilot but turned it off again as I found I could get the same information quicker by just running standard reports. Autoentry doesn't work for our business as we often need to tag invoices to projects, which Autoentry can't (or couldn't when I enquired) handle. I'm interested in the cloud version, but not if there is a significant price rise from having it.

One big improvement would to allow third party AI agents to link into Sage via an API, as these would add some real benefit rather than having to use the limited Sage Copilot

Totally agree. We are installing Cin 7 Core at the moment. Claude CoWork is doing the heavy lifting via Sage ODBC and Cin7's API. It is so much easier than I expected. We also, have turned CoPilot off. It was pointless before V33, but disastrous after the "upgrade":

There is no native integration between Cin 7 and Sage 50, but again Claude CoWork is helping me build that.

If Sage 50 Cloud is available after go live and competitively priced and reliable, maybe we will stick with that, but at the moment, we expect to move to Xero and save ourselves a lot of money and headaches.

Thank you both for your replies.

It looks like my message was delayed while they checked the content so now I have two messages about the same topic.

I was already thinking about Xero after last years increases but with this is going to speed up my exploration. Its a pita but what else can we do. The loyalty to the customer has gone I think.

Most of the add on they have introduced just are not useful and with MScpilot, chatgpt and Claude in tandem its getting easier to design and implement bespoke solutions. This one size fits all Sage approach is failing the market I think

Can i ask what people are paying, we pay hundreds of pounds a month, we did get a reduction last year but has gone up a whopping 35% which apparently is completely acceptable (i think not)  Surely there should be some transparent pricing. We are only 3 users

    Hi Tanya,

    Thanks for your post.

Pricing can vary depending on the type of plan and the plan start date, so we’re not able to discuss individual subscriptions here on Community Hub.

However, my colleagues in Customer Loyalty can discuss your subscription / pricing with you:
