I’m Andy, the UK & Ireland lead for Community Hub, and I’m excited to introduce myself and help you get settled in. I’m here to keep the forums running smoothly, assist with any questions you might have, and encourage everyone to jump in with ideas, replies, and best practice. The goal is to make this a place where we all learn from each other and find solutions together.

A little bit about me: Before joining Sage, I worked with three government agencies, including HMRC’s VAT Enquiry line. I’ve been with Sage for 25 years now, starting out on the support line for Sage Line 50 (now Sage 50 Accounts). Over the years, I moved into the Digital Knowledge Team where I helped develop helpful materials for our products, and eventually, into my current role here in Community Hub. I’m really passionate about what I do, and it’s so rewarding to see the community come together to help each other out!

When I’m not immersed in Community Hub, you’ll probably find me out birdwatching. I’m actively involved in long-term studies of Mute Swans and Kittiwakes. I also enjoy reading, socialising, and, as a lifelong Newcastle United fan, I’m still holding out hope for that elusive domestic trophy (70 years and counting!). --- Edit, not any more :-)

    I think that would have to be outside of Sage as there is nothing built in per se. However to track costs we set up a 5000 series Nominal to catch costs incurred when we take stuff to the local scrap merchants / recyclers

    Hi Suz, and Welcome to Community Hub, great to have you onboard. I hope Community Hub can be a useful resource for you.

    As Ken suggests there isn't a function in Sage 50 Accounts for WEEE beyond recording costs in you accounts, it may be something you need to track outside of your Sage software. The following article from HMRC outlines the regulation: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

    Thank you for the reply, I really do find it strange that SAGE doesn't have this covered anywhere!

    We are only a small company and we have submitted our initial years usage which isn't that much tbh!

    Hello everyone Wave,

    My name’s Eric, and I provide technical support for Sage 50 Accounts. I’ve been with Sage for a year now, supporting customers day to day and helping them get the most out of their software.

    I joined the Community Hub because I genuinely enjoy empowering customers to feel confident with their product – whether that’s solving a tricky issue, sharing tips, or helping someone discover an easier way of working. It’s been great seeing the community work together to solve problems and help each other work efficiently.

    When I’m not talking sage: I spend my time reading, watching documentaries/ video essays and tabletop gaming. I’ve recently finished reading Metamorphosis by Kafka – it was a fascinating read.

    I’m looking forward to getting involved in discussions, learning from the community, and supporting you wherever I can.

    Hi,

    I'm Sam, and I work at Sage helping customers with Sage 50 Accounts over the phone. Every day I get the chance to support people through their challenges, celebrate their wins, and help them feel confident using their software—something I genuinely enjoy.

    I decided to join the Community Hub because I love the idea of learning with customers rather than just supporting them from afar. Here, we can share experiences, exchange ideas, and work together to overcome common challenges. I want to be part of a space where customers can collaborate openly, discover new tips and best practices, and help each other get even more value out of Sage 50 Accounts.

    When I’m not helping our lovely customers, you’ll usually find me in front of my pottery wheel, completely covered in clay and happily making whatever pops into my imagination. If I’m not creating pottery, I’m probably busy with my five guinea pigs—who very much run my life!

    I’m really looking forward to getting involved, sharing knowledge, and helping anyone who needs a hand. Whether it’s answering questions, offering guidance, or learning something new myself, I’m excited to be part of this community!
