Converting Sage 50 2012 V18 to V27

SUGGESTED

Following a recent ransom attack on our Sage 50 hosting company 'Your Office Anyway' we have manage to retrieve the live Sage 2012 data. To allow as to check the integrity of the data we downloaded Sage V27 and used that to input the live data. The converstion seemed to work and looking initially at the data all seemed correct however, after a more detailed check we have found missing transactions - is this normall?

Looking at your convertion web page https://gb-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=200427112210641&_gl=1*5awdn7*_ga*MzkyNTIxMjc0LjE3NDYxMTcwNzQ.*_ga_PE4Z9JJWVN*czE3NDY4NzcwMzYkbzMkZzEkdDE3NDY4NzcwODUkajExJGwwJGgw

it looks like you can convert V18 (2012) directly to V27

I have also read that you need to convert to Sage 2015 (V21) first before conversion to V27 however, I can't find V21 to download.

Please can you let me know what I need to do to get 2012 running on a more recent version or alternatively let me know where I can find a downlaod for 2012

Many thanks. Regards Jon

    Hi Jon,

Do you know if a data check had been run on the original data before it was retrieved? If errors were reported when running check data this could be the cause of the missing transactions, although given the circumstances I appreciate you may not know if errors were present.

Missing transactions can also be caused by a failed conversion so attempting the conversion again may resolve the issue. If problems persist you may need to convert what you can and then see if there's enough to proceed or whether you need to start again with opening balances in a more recent version.

v21 is past end of life and therefore no longer available, the latest version is v32.
