Co-operative Bank - feeds

Suggested

I'm experiencing a lot of issues with my bank feed. Over the last six months, it has generated multiple duplicates and also missed out some transactions. My accounts are a mess. Before Christmas, after speaking with Sage support, I unlinked the bank and then relinked it, but checking it this morning there are more duplicates - the problem is still there.

I'm guessing there isn't going to be a fix for this anytime soon. I'm just wondering if this is the Co-op Bank or Sage's problem? Are there other Co-op users out there have this problem, or have been able to solve it.

Having the same issue with duplicates.  The reference does change on ours but it's still not good as you have to follow up manually. Always happens for transactions at the end of the month or weekend/ bank holiday.

Had missing transactions before but not recently (this year).

For us, Sage will not investigate and say it's a bank problem.

Just adding to the thread so you know you are not the only one experiencing this.

I didn't get a solution. I'm importing manually and will close my Sage account at the end of the tax year. I've opened up a business bank account with Monzo, which may be all I need, as you can use it to invoice and they are about to introduce tools for all the new digital tax reporting. I'll know more when I start using it properly in April.

    Hi Phil / Frances,

I'm sorry to read that the problem of duplicate transactions persists for you.

Our banking team has investigated this matter and confirmed that the issue originates from the Co-Operative Bank. Unfortunately, Co-Op is aware of the problem but has not indicated any plans to implement a fix at this time.

We understand how inconvenient this is, and we sincerely apologise for the disruption it may be causing.

The duplication occurs when a pending transaction over the weekend is altered (such as a change in the reference) which results in Co-Op resending the transaction.

Although we have security measures in place to prevent duplicates, the altered transaction is treated as a new one due to its different transaction ID and date, allowing it to bypass our filters.

While we are currently unable to prevent this issue from our side, we are actively monitoring the number of affected customers and exploring ways to enhance our systems to better manage such scenarios in the future.
