The Covering letter isn't password protected ( even though it contains personal information), but the actual P11D forms are password protected - even though numerous people haven't passworded their emails. This, together with the 2021-2022 mistake, after waiting all this time for the 2022-2023 version is very frustrating. We have tried to download the V28.1 update & it isn't even listed to be downloaded

I have the opposite problem. The file says 2022-2023 but once printed the P11D says 2021-2022. I've istalled the lastest update. Should I re-install?

If the year shown on the P11d is incorrect it would be picking up what is shown bottom right of the P11d program as it's using parameter of P11d tax year.  

If this is correct can you check the system date and settings are correctly UK. 

V28.01 has been released and had a fix for an incorrectly labelled attachment for P11d, The document as correct but the attachment was named 2021/2022

I would recommend a reinstallation as the  P11d is the incorrect as te reports may not have been updated correctly.  the Email will use the program year as you have seen, but if the report is the incorrect layout it may have 2021/2022 version still active,   

Did you install over the top of V27 , if so i would recommend a new installation of V28.01 and restore  a backup.
