Moving from weekly to monthly payroll

We currently run one monthly payroll and one weekly payroll, we are looking to move all weekly paid employees to monthly, however, these wont be able to be paid the same day as the current monthly, is it possible to run two monthly payrolls for the same company? If so what would be the best way to set the second monthly payroll up? Also is it easy moving the workplace pension scheme from weekly to monthly?

    Yes, you can have two monthly payrolls for the same company on different dates, it's quite common for companies to do this, for example to the 15th if the month and the other company to the 30th / 31st. 

    If you change from weekly to monthly, you need to ensure there's no overlap in the pay frequency, you can read more about this here: Lengthen an employee's pay frequency >

    It's better to change the frequency within one data set than by setting up a new company.

    With regard to pensions, you could have separate schemes for weekly and monthly, but this may be an area you would like to discuss with Sage Technical Support >
