Yes you can add a note on a payslip. I have found this knowledgebase article Add a message to your payslips which will take you through the steps to do this.

Yes you can - this guide explains how to do it - Add a message to your payslips

If I recall correctly - the payslip comment field has a maximum of 255 characters (including spaces)
