P11D(b)

Solved

When payrolling of benefits becomes mandatory in 2027, will Sage 50 Payroll automatically produce and submit the P11D(b) or will this have to be done manually and separately via the HMRC PAYE Online portal ?

    Hi Adam,

    Thanks for your question,

When Payrolling Benefits becomes mandatory the Class 1A calculation will also be part of the payroll outputs to HMRC as either FPS or EPS (TBD) . this will mean a  P11d(b) will not be required unless you have active benefits that are not included in the mandatory rules such as Employee Loans and Relocation. these can be manually added as optional payroll benefits or submitted via a P11d.

There has been a recent change for 2027   HMRC link  so only 4 types of benefits are mandatory (the most common)  these are

    • Company cars and fuel
    • Vans and van fuel
    • Private medical benefits

All Class 1A calculations for these will form part of the payroll submissions and be included int he monthly Liability (P32) .  Any optional (not the 2 above) are still be discussed as to how Class 1A will be reported.

We will be sharing more news as we progress so please check out the Homepage in  Sage 50 Payroll for links to the Payrolling Benefits Hub we will be creating.
