So, a bit of an update:

I imported transactions manually which stopped Sage from showing the 'Connecting...' message. I then deactivated PayPal to reduce the factors and simplify the problem.

I deleted the app and re-intsalled it, cleared the browser cache and used a different browser.

I tried to re-establish a bank feed connection to Barclays Business. As before, Plaid connected with Barclays successfully, asks me to confirm which Barclays account, etc, complete Barclasy security successfully, Barclays hands back to Plaid, I am asked the date from when I want to import transactions. So this all goes great and I am passed back to Sage Sole Trader where the Barclays account section in the Banking Tab has a clickable icon in the top right that states 'Connect to Bank' as if nohing has happened.

I have tried this in different browsers, on the app and on the web.

I have moved from Intuit to Sage because Barclays have included a Sage offer - there was no problem with Bank Feeds in Intuit. I can't seem to get any online chat or find a telephone number for support - I am directed here to the Community Hub.

Can anyone help?

I'm having exactly the same problem today with the same Barclays Sole trader account.  If I find a solution I'll post it here.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the Barclays / Sage / Sole Trader offer today - I've spoken to Barclays and they looked and could see all the connections set up and active with the correct permissions so they are confident it is a Sage  problem.  Unfortunately, their solution was to transfer my phone call to Sage customer service, 25 mins of waiting on hold later the Sage customer service rep told me that with this Barclays offer, you cannot use telephone support and have to use the slow chat feature.  I'll use that and report back with any updates.

Sage chat was an AI bot that couldn't help and gave me instructions to do something that wasn't possible so I got put through to a real person who, unfortunately couldn't help either as they asked me to disconnect the bank account then connect again but it won't disconnect now so it has been escalated to 2nd line support - a phone call tomorrow as that team is closed for the day.  I would advise you try the chat too and get it escalated.

Thanks for this information. I cannot seem to access chat or the support telephone number if I choose the Sole Trader product. I would be grateful if you could let me know how you get on today with 2nd line support.

It got to 4pm and they hadn’t called so I got on the chat again and that made them call.  Terrible support call as the call centre was so noisey in the background I genuinely couldn’t hear what the support guy was saying most of the time.  Essentially they were told by 2nd line support that pulling data can take 2-3 days and I have pending transactions in my account that is causing the problem.  It is a new account with only 4 transactions in it, nothing pending so it should take seconds to pull the data.  I hate being lied to by support.  But, I have no option but to wait and then get back to them.  It could be that they know there’s a problem, didn’t want to admit it and will work on it…. I told them there are others with the same problem (you) and they didn’t respond to that.  I’ll update when I speak again but keep checking each day as it might get fixed.

Hi Andy, thanks for your help - I replied to your message last night by email.

So today I got access to the online chat support - I'm not sure what changed there. AI, escalated to real person who earnestly tried to help but couldn't so they escalated again. I am told that this is a problem the Devs are working on and there is no time frame for when this work will be completed. Ironic given that I only came to Sage because of the Barclays offer and yet, in our experiences, Sage does not connect successfully to a Barclays bank feed!! I'll wait for a bit and give it a chance but may go back to Quickbooks... I have to say that the Joshua (the human chat support) was excellent but, unfortunately, was ultimately unable to resolve the issue. 

I have escalated this to the engineering team, who are investigating as a priority. I will post an update as soon as more information is available.

Thanks Andy, that issue is now resolved and I am able to connect to the Barclays bank feed.
