Invoicing

Suggested

Hi there

I'm new to Sage Accounting so apologies for stupid questions. Is it necessary to create invoices using Sage? I had my own template using a Microsoft Word document and that worked well for me to send to clients. Do I have to use Sage-created invoices to record income/sales or can I continue as previously? It seems like more work to process invoices through Sage rather than how I did things previously. Is it possible to simply upload my own invoice for each piece of work?

Many thanks

D.

    Hi Xanadu,

    Thanks for your post.

It's perfectly okay to continue with your Word system and just document the transactions in Sage Accounting.

There are a few approaches you could use.

You could create the invoice in Sage, as in Word, but just elect not to print it, although that may be time consuming as you suggest, alternatively you can use Quick Entries

Quick entries can also be imported rather than manually keyed: Import Quick Entries

Hi Andy - Thanks very much for your response. It's good to know I can keep using my own Word templates. However, I can't see any option for Quick Entries under my Sales tab - the only option on my screen under Sales is us to click on 'new invoice'. I'm using Accounting Start - is my subscription different to Sage Accounting/Sage Sole Trader?
