Is it just me or is AutoEntry very slow?

SOLVED

I have been using AutoEntry for well over a year.  It has had moments of things going wrong but on the whole I find it good.  Lately it seems to be slow, regularly times out before publishing invoices and I have to republish them.  When inputting multi line invoices the details keeps disappearing from the lines and I have to reinput it a good few times before it finally stays put.  The VAT rate for each supplier doesn't register and I have to change it then change it back to the correct one.

Is anyone else having these problems or is it because my computer is getting on a bit and is struggling to handle it?  I feel like I am getting to a point where I could manually input invoices quicker and attach the document.

Any feed back would be much appreciated before I go back to AutoEntry.

    Hi Natasha!
    Thanks for using Sage City.
The AutoEntry team have reported an ongoing issue where items entered on invoice lines will either wipe the entry or revert to the previous selection. The fix for this is currently being worked on, and we apologise for any inconvenience it has caused you!
Regarding the need to republish invoices to successfully send them to Sage, the solution to this would depend on the version of Sage you are using. There are different steps available on AutoEntry's Help Center here for Sage 50 Accounts and here for Sage Business Cloud Accounting. AutoEntry's Support team is available to help with further troubleshooting also.

Thank you Emma, that is good to know, I will persevere with it.

We find AE unbearably slow. It takes a long time to process, and sometimes my team has gone home without being able to publish. Also, I often search for invoices in the archive, and when I open an invoice, it takes 13 seconds (yes, I timed it out of sheer frustration) to appear. If I'm trying to look at a few invoices for a supplier, waiting 13 seconds for each one to open is like watching paint dry.

I'm keeping my eye out for alternative solutions.

    Hi,

    Thanks for using Community Hub.

There is some general troubleshooting advice that you can run through if you're having problems publishing invoices to your accounting software.

    https://help.autoentry.com/en/articles/4719975-invoices-not-publishing-to-my-accounting-software

In the guide above are also links for further troubleshooting depending on whether you integrate with Sage Accounting or Sage 50 Accounts.

However, if these don't work then please feel free to start a chat with AutoEntry support who will be more than happy to look into it further for you.

    Kind regards,

    Oli, Sage UKI

Me too, I don't know what has happened recently but it never took so long to put an invoice on.  I am also finding on invoices where I have to add lines it loses the vat setting, I also have to input values more than once as they just disappear.  With the amount of invoices we get weekly I used AutoEntry to get through them quicker.  Now that it is possible to attach an invoice in Sage I am wondering if it will be quicker for me to go back manually input invoices.

Such a shame. We are moving over to another service next week. The speed isn't the only issue, but it's 95% of the reason we're moving.

could I ask what you are moving on to?

Paperless. Untested, though, obviously. It scans pretty much instantly per the demo we had. With AutoEntry, we can be waiting a long time for a doc to scan.

Ok, if problems persist I might take a look.  Seems silly that AutoEntry being owned by Sage cannot make it so it is more seamless, so many things could be improved!

  • I am having same issues today, and although autoentry team was looking into it , it is still issue . The departments breakdown lines are disappearing whilst posting the invoice, vat tax not being calculated at all until tax codes changed back and forth  in the breakdowns, and system is slow. Not being able to speak to  support is also the issue as whilst they do try to help vis logging in ticket half of the time they cannot understand the issue and checking only what has been posted , but not was was entered on the screen and then disappeared in the process of posting .

I raised this as an issue yesterday.  After doing a Sage update I then had issues with AutoEntry linking to Sage.  They remotely logged on to my computer to fix the issue and while they were on I showed them what happens when I add lines to an invoice, they disappear.  They said this is normal as they are not populated, I said it never used to do it and it means I have to the re add the lines, it is a slow enough process as it is without having to do them twice.  They are looking into it.  I also said the slowness is a big issue, they already have this on their radar.  It has been slow for so long it is ridiculous.
