Automate payroll

Hi

I use Sage cloud payroll standard and I currently I have a lot of manual tasks when doing payroll, I want to be able to have Sage upload the individual payments straight to my bank to save me having to manually enter each employee into the bank Bacs payments. I assume there is a way as big business must have an automated process. but i cant see an option on Sage.  Can anyone help point me in the right direction. i have too much manual work in the current process which can add human error and time to the task.

    Thanks for your question, we know how important automation is for streamlining payroll.

    We did run a Beta programme to support paying employees directly from the software, but due to issues with a third-party provider, it didn’t deliver the results we hoped for. We're now exploring options with a new provider to offer this feature in future.

     There’s no confirmed timeline yet, but please keep an eye on our Announcements forum for updates

    Hi Annie,

    actually even just a way of producing a customised CSV file with the bank details would be enough.  Currently, I use a CSV export of the Employee Net Pay.  I then cut and paste the amounts into a template provided by the Bank for batch processing.  We are small and the staff members don't change often so it's just about OK.  But if the Employee Net Pay report could be customised and include the employee bank details that would get us all the way there in one file.

    I have just moved over from Kashflow Payroll. Everything on Sage seems cleaner and clearer, and I'm happy with most of it, but the inability to download a CSV of my payments feels like a glaring omission. My package supports up to 150 employees, surely no-one is hand-entering that?!

    All Monzo requires for an automated bulk payment is a csv containing Payment Reference, Payee Name, Sort Code, Bank Account Number, Bank Account Type, and Amount.

    Kashflow didn't provide the correct template, but I made a spreadsheet to convert their BACS file into something that Monzo could use.

    I'm now researching web scraping to extract the data from your summary page, which feels like it should be readily accessible!

    Thanks for your post.

    As you suggest, this isn't currently a feature of Sage Payroll, but I would encourage you to suggest it for future development, you can do that in the software, read how here: Suggest an idea
