No PAYE being calculated

Solved

Hi,

One of our employees returned from his off the job phase of apprenticeship training in week 14.  As he was being paid by SOLAS from weeks 1 to 13, I excluded him by ticking the exclude employee tick box when processing the payroll for those periods.  Since his return the system is not calculating any PAYE.  The RPN is downloading and I can see his gross and tax paid in previous employment this year, all looks correct but I cannot understand why he is not paying any PAYE and am concerned there might be a problem, any suggestions as to why this is?

Thanks,

Mel

    Hi,

Thank you for using the Community Hub.

Because of the way PAYE is calculated in Ireland, working on the basis of the RPN, there are only a few things you can check.

    1. Are the payment types used PAYEable?
    2. Is the employee set up correctly
    3. Are the values in the RPN correct.
    4. Revenue provide worksheet that enables you to check the calculations and this is available at Calculating your Income Tax

If after these checks, you still have concerns the next step would be to speak to Revenue.
