Legislation for the 2025 Tax Year

Get up to speed with the key legislation changes for the 2025 tax year, announced by the Minister for Finance on 1 October 2024 Budget. View a summary of the Legislation for 2025 tax year.

Set up a pay calendar

When you set up the new tax year calendar, it's important to enter the correct dates for period 1 of 2025. The dates you enter as 1st Pay Period Dates, then determine the dates used when setting later pay periods in 2025.

Revenue payroll Notifications (RPNs)

Each period, you must check you have the most up to date RPNs for your employees. This ensures credits, cut-off points and any deductions are correct.

Make a correction to a previous tax year

If you spot a mistake after you close off the 2024 tax year, you should make a correction in the current pay period. You then need to resend the Payroll Submission to let Revenue know which also updates the incorrect information that you previously sent. Make a correction now.

Process sick pay


During winter, it's likely that you'll have someone off sick at some point. By law you must pay statutory sick pay (SSP) to all employees who are off work due to sickness and who qualifies for sick pay
