This edition is all about staying compliant and working smarter with your software. From auto-enrolment and PRSI updates to product name changes and version checks, we've got practical information to help you stay on track. Whether you're preparing for upcoming changes or making sure your software is up to date, there's something here for you.
	Check you're up to date From 1 October 2025, PRSI employer and employee rates increase by 0.1%. Sage 50 Payroll (IE) v28.1 includes this new legislation. To check your version, open your software, go to Help then select System Information. If you're not using v28.1, you can download and install it now to stay compliant.
Sage Payroll changes to Sage 50 Payroll Just a reminder that Sage Payroll (Micropay) in Ireland is now called Sage 50 Payroll. You'll start to see this new name gradually across our website, knowledgebase articles, in-product messaging and customer communications. This change is rolling out in phases, so you may still see the old name in some places for now.
	Auto-enrolment starts 1 January 2026 Ireland’s new retirement savings scheme will auto-enrol employees who: Are aged 23 to 60 Earn over €20,000 Don’t already have a pension For every €3 an employee contributes, you will add €3, and the State adds €1. That means €7 goes into their savings account.
Sage 50 Payroll will support auto-enrolment Coming later this year, our next software release will make auto-enrolment easy. You'll retrieve pension instructions, similar to RPNS, so your software knows who to enrol. It will calculate contributions automatically and show them on payslips and reports.
