Sage CRM QuickCal 1.1, is an addon designed to streamline appointment scheduling and improve communication within Sage CRM. To install, users must ensure that their Sage CRM system has Self Service enabled and is configured to send emails. Installation involves setting up the QuickCal component within the CRM environment and hosting the ICS content files on a Self Service site.
What if you don't have Self Service?
In Sage CRM, if your license does not include Self Service or you did not install the demo site during the initial installation, you will need to address these issues to use Self Service:
- License Key: Ensure that you have a valid Self Service license key. You may need to contact your Sage support to obtain or upgrade your license to include Self Service.
- Installation: If you did not install the demo Self Service site during the initial installation, you may need to rerun the Sage CRM installation process and select the Sample Self Service Support site check box to install the demo site.
Back up before running the installer
You must back up the folders under the Sage CRM application on the web server before running the install shield to ensure that you have a complete set of system, database, and registry files stored independently of the upgrade environment. This provides added security against data loss during the upgrade procedure and allows you to restore the customer’s environment in-house, creating a mirror image of the existing Sage CRM environment.
- Ensure the location where you'll save the backup files has sufficient storage space.
- Browse to the Sage CRM install files on the web server.
- Create a zip file containing the install name folder and all sub-folders.
- Save the zip file to your backup location.
Restoring from the backup if necessary
If you encounter an error related to the folders after running the install shield and need to restore the folders, you can follow these steps:
- Locate the backup zip file you created before running the install shield.
- Extract the zip file's contents to a temporary location on your system.
- Stop the Sage CRM services to ensure no files are in use.
- Copy the extracted folders and files from the temporary location back to the original Sage CRM install directory on the web server.
- Restart the Sage CRM services.
This process should restore the folders to their previous state before running the installer.
