What is the correct way to migrate and upgrade Sage CRM on another server?

Hi all,

I have this situation where I have to upgrade and migrate Sage CRM to another server: Sage CRM 2022 to Sage CRM 2024.

Lets say I have:

  1. Server A that contain Sage CRM 2022 and Sage 300 2023. The Sage CRM installation & database name is "CRM".
  2. Server B that contain SQL Server.

Then I would like to upgrade to Sage CRM 2024 and Sage 300 2025, but on another server, Server C. I am still using the SQL server in Server B. 

If I install Sage CRM in server C, I need to specify the installation name, which is also the database name. However, I cannot use name "CRM", else it will overwrite the content of "CRM" database in server C. If I use another name, lets say "CRM2025", I will install as a new database. When I restore "CRM" to "CRM2025", the web app is not working correctly because the installation path in the database is not the same, and some tables and views may be different now. 

Please advice me the correct way to do migration and upgrade on Sage CRM.
