Workaround: Set up Mailing from Sage CRM (E-Mail Alias)

Suggested

Hello guys,

For some time now, I have noticed that it has not been possible to configure a sender E-Mail-address in the admin area under “E-Mail Configuration”.
As a result, sending emails from the CRM cannot be set up via the UI in some cases.
For me, this has happend to various systems from R2024 to R2025.

Usual way:
First, set up up E-Mail configuration by entering your details.
Next, you try to add an E-Mail alias to send E-Mails. But, here something strange happens.
After entering an E-Mail and trying to save, the page just reloads. No error message or some other indicator like in logs. The changes are not saved.

A workaround I found to work, is inserting the email address directly into the database into Custom_EmailAddress table.

Execute SQL statement as follows:

(Change [email protected] and Name to your need)

USE [CRM]

INSERT INTO [dbo].[Custom_EmailAddress]
  (EmSe_EmailAddress
,emse_enabledforoutbound
,emse_enabledforreplyto
,emse_displayname)
VALUES
  (
    '[email protected]'
   ,'Y'
   ,'Y'
   ,'Name'
  )
