Quick Setup and Configuration Assistant 2025

This component is designed to be run on a new install of Sage CRM. It enables a system administrator to quickly disable options that may not be used during the initial phase of a project. If the options listed below are unchecked, then different features will be suppressed. These changes to metadata options can be reversed by making simple adjustments in the system administration screens.

  • Use Workflow
  • Use Advanced Interface options

The component will modify the tab menus, the Find menu, the New menu, and action buttons on a summary screen.

Use Sales Module (This affects visibility of Leads, Opportunities, Orders, and Quotes across the system.):

When this option is unchecked, the following changes are made:

  • Updating Team Menu
    • Leads list suppressed
    • Opportunities list suppressed
    • Updating Company Tabgroup
    • Opportunities list tab suppressed
  • Updating Find Menu
    • Opportunity find option suppressed
    • Lead find option suppressed
    • Order find option suppressed
    • Quote find option suppressed
  • Updating New Menu
    • New Opportunity option suppressed
    • New Lead option suppressed
    • New Order option suppressed
    • New Quote option suppressed
    • Updating Person Tabgroup
    • Opportunities list tab suppressed
  • Updating My CRM menu
    • Leads list tab suppressed
    • Call list tab suppressed
    • Opportunities list tab suppressed
    • Forecasts tab suppressed

Use Marketing Module (This affects visibility of the Marketing menu.):

When this option is unchecked, the following changes are made:

  • Updating Main Menu
    • Marketing menu suppressed

Use Customer Service Module (This affects visibility of Cases across the system.):

When this option is unchecked, the following changes are made:

  • Updating Team Menu
    • Case list suppressed
    • Solutions list suppressed
  • Updating Company Tabgroup
    • Case list tab suppressed
  • Updating Find Menu
    • Case find option suppressed
    • Solution find option suppressed
  • Updating New Menu
    • New Case option suppressed
    • New Solution option suppressed
  • Updating Person Tabgroup
    • Case list tab suppressed
  • Updating My CRM menu
    • Case list tab suppressed
    • Solutions list tab suppressed

Use Workflow (Uncheck this to use the simple progress behaviour on Leads, Opportunities, and Cases.):

When this option is unchecked, the following changes are made:

  • Workflow for Cases switched off
  • Workflow for Lead switched off
  • Workflow for Opportunities switched off
  • Workflow for Solutions switched off

Use Advanced Interface options (Uncheck this to suppress display of less commonly used options in summary screens. ):

When this option is unchecked, the following changes are made:

  • Updating Case Tabgroup
    • Relationship tab option suppressed
  • Updating Company Tabgroup
    • Quicklook tab suppressed
    • Key Attributes tab suppressed
    • Marketing tab suppressed
    • Company Team tab suppressed
    • Self-Service tab suppressed
    • Relationships tab suppressed
  • Updating Opportunity Tabgroup
    • Relationship tab suppressed
  • Updating Person Tabgroup
    • Quicklook tab suppressed
    • Marketing tab suppressed
    • Self-Service tab suppressed
    • Relationship tab suppressed
  • Updating System Parameters
    • Deduplication switched off
    • Allow MailMerge to Word to be switched off
    • Send Email to a group enabled only for Administrators
    • Summary Reports switched off
    • Export Reports are enabled only for Administrators
    • Export Groups and Search Results are enabled only for Administrators

It is assumed that you will install this component on an uncustomized system where menu options have not been changed.

You should not run this component against an instance of Sage CRM integrated with a Sage business management solution without first ensuring you understand the implications of the changes made to the system.

If the system is installed with a license that includes Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, then this component will not remove all reference to those entities. If you install on a system with demo data, you may find anomalies where a suppressed entity is referenced. For example, the recent list may still display cases when the customer service option is switched off using the component, and reports and dashboard items will still be available.

This component was tested with Sage CRM 2025.
