Depreciation on the Cash Flows Statement

Posted By FormerMember

Hello,

I am creating a Cash Flows Statement for my company. I went into Account Maintenance and added all the appropriate Current Assets and Current Liabilities to the Operating Section of the Cash Flows. The Statement report works greats with these accounts. However, I also added Depreciation Expense and Amortization Expense. Since Net Income is added to the Statement, it is my understanding that we need to add any non-cash expense accounts back to Net Income. Instead of adding the Amortization and Depreciation Expenses, the report is subtracting these amounts. Is there any way to fix this in Sage? Or is my understanding of accounting not correct?

Hi Socasue - we are not using Sage Intelligence for this, but would you be able to add any additional guidance for this?

Our change in depreciation in the operating activities on the Cash Flow is pulling from a group of accounts from the P&L, not the BS due to true ups that we needed to capture. Does this affect is at all? Does the normal balance field affect this at all?
