Sage 2019 ver 6.10.4.0
We upgraded 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time I've had this problem so I think it's time to take it to the forums. I froze the inventory on 12/31/24. I imported IM_Physical into an access database. We use that database to record our counts... Then I create an import file and use Visual Integrator to bring in the counts.
When I previewed the physical variance register, it had a much higher variance than I was expecting.. So I compare the live copy of IM_Physical with my saved copy and sure enough, there are about 15 items where the Quantity On Hand has changed since it's been frozen. There is no real consistency in terms of which items have been updated (not all of them).
- I am 100000% certain that no one has "re frozen" the items or anything since the original freeze.
- I double checked BEFORE previewing the variance register that there were no differences in Qty on Hand between the live IM_Physical and my saved copy, since I was fully conscious this time that this might happen
- When I check the items in question, they have been updated in IM_Physical to reflect the transaction activity that has occurred since we finished counting.
Example Item: AT2-250. This was frozen with a quantity of 0. The count was 0. On 1/16 there was a Work Order Release for 6, and 1 went out on Sales order. Now the quantity in IM_Physical is 5.
My solution is just to go into the county file and change the count to 5, so that no variance is posted.
But HOW, WHY, is this happening? I have asked our consultant and they have never heard of this.
