Assigning specific GL to outgoing freight based on warehouse and product line

We currently have 4 GLs we would like to use for tracking outgoing freight charged to the customer. We would like to have the SO invoice process look at the product line for a GL (xxxx) and warehouse for a department(-xx) to assign the freight charge and post in a specific GL account. Similar to how the SKU will apply sales toals at the line level in SO. The default of the freight field applies to a single GL and posts only there. Is it possible to automate this process as we use an auto-entry service for our SO entries.

I know that using a /MISC line could do this, but we are trying to avoid the manual entry route. Does a field exist that does this? I think it would be similar to the lonaded cost setup in PO, but for SO invoicing.

We have multiple locations and use location-specific GL accounts for revenue, COGS and freight revenue so we can generate an income statement by location.  The software doesn't have the ability to post freight revenue (or discounts, or AR) by location.  So we use the built-in segment substitution by warehouse feature to sub the location segment of our GL account, which posts the revenue and COGS to the location-specific accounts, then we have a Visual Integrator import job that runs nightly to handle the freight "after the fact".  The import job reads Invoice History, selects invoices posted that day that have a warehouse code other than 000 (our main warehouse) and it imports lines into a journal entry to debit the standard freight revenue account and credit the appropriate location's freight revenue account.

Since Sage already has the segment substitution by warehouse feature built-in, they could expand that by adding checkboxes beside each GL account in AR Division Maintenance (just like its done in Prod Line Maintenance) and allow the selected GL accounts from there to also be subject to segment substitution.

There is an existing suggestion on the Sage Ideas website for this that you might want to login and vote for...
