Does the AP Manual Check Register hang during the printing stage? Or does this hang after it successfully prints the AP Manual Check Register and you click on the next  message to Update the AP Manual Check Register?

If it hangs after selecting to update the check register, I would suggest rebuilding some of the files it is trying to write to such as AP_OpenInvoice, AP_TransactionPaymentHistory, AP CheckHistoryHeader & Detail, BR_Transaction to name a few. Not sure why a Check Register update would update Fiscal Year Table, unless you have enhancements installed.

You can also install and run Process Monitor during this process. this may give you a clue why it is hanging.

Thanks l. Hangs after register printed  during update. There were 12 manual ck batches   11 of them updated after rebuild.  None would before rebuild. 
the first of the 12  had only 3 entrees and looked fine but it kept hanging with that fiscal year update msg.  No mods. Reinitialized manual check tables and reentered and posted that first batch. Ok now
