Wondering if there was ever a solution for this - I am running into the same issue.  All is well until I try to do the 2nd drill down into the detail rather that the summary drill down.

Hello Beth.  I have also encountered issues with the GL transaction drill down not working or being extremely slow (especially for companies with a very large number of records in their GL transaction detail history table).  Due to these performance issues the approach I use is to add the GL Detail to the SI Financial Statement report and then add a pivot table tab to allow easy searching / filtering / subtotaling, etc.of the GL detail transaction history.
