OK, you just gave me an "aha!" moment.  I guess I have experienced this and didn't realize it - at least with the batches being created.  I thought my SO Invoice import was creating an empty batch each time I ran it, now I realize that it was the test that was creating the empty batch.  I wonder if you would not get the deleted SO in history if you have the setting turned off to save deleted SO's.  Most of my customers have that turned of so that might be why I haven't seen it.

I know to watch for some things that will error but really aren't errors, and some errors it can't catch until it actually imports, and those are understandable.  But the instances you list - inexcusable and senseless.  There's no reason that they couldn't fix that.
