Sage 2023 is not letting us put in a Next Check number without padding the front of the check number with zeros.
This wasn't the case in our ancient Sage 2014 we just upgraded from.
Can we prevent the zero padding in front of the check number?

No it always uses the zeros. It's kind of annoying because the check numbers are much longer now with all the zeros in front.
Appreciate you throwing your hat in the ring.
I went back into Sage 2014 and found that it forced a single preceding 0. Probably depends on the value (number of characters) of the defined
next check number.
Thanks for the comment
