Hi ValerieH. The second message indicates that the 64 bit version of Sage.BI.ExcelFunction2.xll may not be registered.
Can you open Excel and go to File, the, Options, and Add-Ins. You should see the following add-ins registered, and most importantly their location:

yes that is the issue - they are mapped to x86 not 64bit - but I don't know how to resolve it.  I have tried to uninstall and reinstall

Can you try doing a Quick Repair on Office 365 Apps in Control Panel - Programs and Features?

Go to Control Panel - Programs 

Right-Click on Office 365 (or whatever Office version you have installed).. 

Click Change.. 

When prompted, click "Quick Repair"..

Sadly I had already tried that.  I did it again just to be sure but didn't fix it.

i did get it working not 100% sure what fixed it but this is what I did

- uninstalled BI

- ran full repair not just quick of 0365

- installed BI

- ran regedit

- ran a statement out - went into add ins - com ones - manually selected SI (bi generator not there).  went into excel add ins and had to ensure that green highlighted one was not selected.   This was the real problem I believe is green highlight all along must be something to do with 32bit and conflicts with 64 not sure.  If I select this one - messes up everything - with it off it is running fine.  Anything you may know about removing it from this view as something that can be selected would be helpful
