Sage 300 v2023 external web screen error Undefined after entering login

SOLVED

After upgrading to Sage 300 from v2022.4 to v2023.1, we get an Undefined error after entering the login screen from external web screen. his issue is only with external access outside the network. Internal web screens are fine. I have reviewed KB 77607 (Setting up Sage Web Screens) and KB 117661 (Error: Undefined), but these have not helped to resolve problem. Any thoughts?

    Please correct the following issue(s):

    Unable to connect to the remote server

  • Hi  to confirm, in your URL address bar at the top there are no errors and the SSL certificate name matches the server address?  Are you publishing through a reverse proxy or anything similar that's performing URL translation that may be causing a resolution or DNS issue?  I figure your firewall is open for port 443 (if that's what you're using) as you're reaching the login screen.

    If you've already done the obvious things like restarting IIS and the Sage.CNA.WindowService, then I would check the Logs and Event Viewer.  For example the logs are located under \Online\Web\Logs and \Online\Worker\Logs e.g. C:\Sage300Apps\Online\Web\Logs and C:\Sage300Apps\Online\Worker\Logs.

    Under the event viewer, again check for Errors, particularly any references to IIS / Internet Information Services.

    Good luck & keep us posted!

  • Hi  ,Cant trace anything on the log files and also windows event viewer related to the error I am getting

  • Can you please let me know the URL or at least provide a screenshot of the problem?  Feel free to DM me if required.  You can check out my demo site at https://sage300demo.accsysconsulting.com.au:4433/Sage300/ if you want an example.  I can help you check your A records and certificate are correct.  Its strange none of the logs are showing anything because when an error is returned a log entry should be written. Literally the #1 cause of this problem is that the URL you're using to access the site does not match the friendly/common name of your SSL certificate.  Can you provide screenshots of the URL and the Certificate Details?  Also, can you access the IIS Welcome page without a browser or certificate error and provide a screenshot of that? Have you put a ticket in to Sage 300 support?  Make sure you do that, and also contact your Sage 300 consultant or Business Partner.  I'm doing my best but really need more information to be able to assist Blush
